How to delete your account

Account Deletion

You can request account deletion in two ways: from within the Blinder app (recommended) or via email without reinstalling the app. Both options are described below.

Option A: Delete from within the app

Apple and Google require that apps with account creation offer in-app account deletion. In Blinder you can start and complete deletion as follows:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to Account
  3. Choose Delete Account
  4. Complete the in-app confirmation steps, including the final Confirm deletion step

Your data is deleted only after you complete the final confirmation. Until then, the request is pending and can be cancelled.

Pending request window (up to 7 days)

When you start deletion in the app, the request remains pending for up to 7 days. You must complete the final in-app confirmation within this period. If you do not confirm in time, the pending request expires automatically and no deletion is performed; your account remains active. Data is removed only after you complete the final confirmation step.

Option B: Request deletion via web (without the app)

If you cannot or prefer not to use the app (for example after uninstalling), you can request account deletion by email. This meets the requirement for a web-based deletion option.

  1. Send an email to blinder.eu@gmail.com with subject Account Deletion Request.
  2. Include the email address you use in the Blinder app and, if you have it, your user ID (UID). Do not send passwords.
  3. We may ask you to verify your identity (for example by replying from the same email or answering a security question) to prevent unauthorized deletion.

Timeframe: We will process valid requests within 30 days. After we confirm your identity, we will delete your account and associated data as described in “What is deleted after confirmation” below. You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete.

What is deleted after confirmation

  • Account authentication record for Blinder sign-in
  • Profile information, settings, and discovery card
  • Photos and related media stored for your account
  • Push token records and app-related per-user records
  • Purchase entitlement state associated with your account

What may be retained or transformed

  • Messages previously sent in chats may be anonymized (sender replaced with a deleted-user marker) so other users can keep conversation history
  • Limited records may be retained where required by law, security, anti-fraud, or accounting obligations
  • Backup copies may persist for a limited period before automatic overwrite/deletion cycles complete

Important notes

  • Account deletion is irreversible after confirmation.
  • Blinder offers consumable in-app purchases (e.g. keys), not subscriptions. If you have any store subscriptions linked to the app, cancel them in your Apple or Google account settings. Purchase history is held by the store, not by us.
